You have a busy life? Right? You struggle to find time for everything? Guess what? You are not alone! Everybody is having a busy life and struggling to keep up. But let’s understand something. This is NOT a matter of being busy, it is a matter of setting your priorities right.
The most common question people ask me these days is about finding the time for a workout in a busy life. They remind me of when I used to ask the exact question to myself too. I used to lie to myself that I was too busy and repeated this so much that I ended up believing it! It was never a problem with time, it was a problem with getting my priorities right! Don’t get me wrong, I had a lot of things to do but not finding 3-4 hours for myself in a week of 168 hours? That was a huge lie!
So let’s get this straight. It’s bullshit! Nobody is too busy! It’s not about finding the time; If it is a priority, you’ll make time for it. Whenever someone tell me that they are too busy, I simply reply “then it’s not a priority because if it was, you’ll make time for it”.
I used to work long hours after which I used to go straight to hospital to visit my mother until late and then I head back home and prepare my meals for the next day or two (Okay I admit. I was also a bit lucky because my aunt used to help with the house cleaning but Guess what? I still managed to find time for a workout, sometime at 2am in the morning but yeah it was a priority and skipping a workout was NOT an option I was considering).
You might ask, 2am? Yes 2am! My priority wasn’t exactly to go to the gym. My priority was to work out 3 to 4 times a week. You do not have to go to the gym to work out (just in case you didn’t know that). Sometimes I used to work out at home, some other days I used to go for a walk or a jog. Isn’t that still a workout?
So change your mindset and going forward, whenever you end up in a such situation, stop and ask yourself, how much do you want this? how important is it to you? How far are you willing to go to reach your targets?
It’s not a matter of “having” time. It’s all about MAKING time!
